Feng Shui Ottawa

Feng Shui Ottawa - The oriental idea of Feng Shui plainly translates to "wind and water." This complex concept is more simply understood than it is defined or pronounced. Feng Shui must be experienced to be able to entirely know its ramifications on the human spirit. The elusive energy known as chi is ever present and surrounds the application and the meaning of Feng Shui. Even if it is elusive, chi is everywhere in the universe and is considered one's aesthetic periphery. Feng Shui reveals itself in our viewpoint concerning landscape and concerning life. It is the framework we place either consciously or unconsciously around our lives.

In Oriental customs, the positioning of a lot of objects like for instance buildings, graves and furniture is based on the patterns recognized by the flow of yin and yang and chi. Together, these create both negative and positive effects. Feng Shui is made up of five elements. These elements are wood, water, metal, fire and earth. They combine in their own specific ways to generate either positive or destructive cycles. In order for optimum Feng Shui to be obtained within whichever room, all of the five elements will be included without being overpowered by whichever one of them separately.

Like for instance, if contemporary furniture featuring metal is dominating a certain space, the effects may be balance with wood elements. Candles add a fire component if that is desired. If applying Feng Shui as a design feature in anyone's house, it is important to use natural substances if possible. The dual aspects of yin and yang always reign supreme in Feng Shui in view of the fact that the ultimate aim is to generate a harmonious balance between natural objects and human beings.

Bedrooms are very important rooms in whichever home and it is crucial to have ample energy flow to them. This is vital to the energy flow all through the rest of the home. Beds themselves are said to have power places also. Some ancient Asian philosophy states that the energy from someone who ever slept in a bed leaves a residue. For optimum Feng Shui, how the bed is positioned with regards to the bedroom door has to be considered. The door has to always be visible from the bed. If the door is not seen from the bed, one could use a mirror in such a way that it will reflect the door. This will restore Feng Shui.

Feng Shui connects life and landscape together and all things in life depend on each other. The Oriental way of thinking believes the landscape is a living and breathing entity. There are numerous aspects regarding earth and humanity and heaven that the Western world can consider as individuals in the east do. Just as Shakespeare said in Hamlet, "There are more things in heaven and earth, my dear Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
